Success Stories

Brian F.

ASAS New York Student
Brian Foster succeeded on the court but struggled in the classroom. Rather than giving up on Brian’s academics, ASAS discovered a way to combine his passion for basketball with his educational objectives. Brian is now an above-average student and the only 9th grader to start on the varsity basketball team.

“[After-School All-Stars] taught me a lot and helped me not only with school related things but with personal things. I have learned that everything is not always about me and that giving does not always mean that you get something back. I learned to be a leader, and to be who you are because there is no one better.”

8th Grade
“Being an All-Star means a lot to me. It was the first time I was part of a team in the United States. I had my first experience playing basketball with All-Stars and was also able to improve on my reading and math skills. Now, in the 8th grade I qualify to take my New York State Math regents exam and am in honors classes!”
